Life Beginning at 30

Today is my 30th birthday and the old saying "life begins at 30" really rings true with me.  Alex came into our life just over two weeks ago, and with him, Audrey, and my husband, our family is complete. 

Birthdays, for me, are always a time of reflection.  Looking back on the past year, it seems as though time has flown by but while you're in the thick of it, sometimes time stands still. 

While I always had dreams of having a family with three kids, the prospect of another C-section having to be in a different location, has put a stop to that.  And I'm happy.  I have my husband, a daughter, a son, a dog, and some cats and life is full.

I can't wait to see what the next decade brings.

Introducing

I'd like to introduce Alexander J, born on Wednesday June 26th at 8:51 am.  At birth he was 7lbs 15oz and measured a very tall 22" long.

Although he was due to arrive on July 12th, and had a c-section scheduled for July 5th - he just couldn't wait!

Our little family is doing well and focusing on adjusting to life as the four of us. We have still had some time to do a couple things around the house, which I will post soon.

Needless to say, his room is not complete, as we were planning to use the Canada Day long weekend to get it finished. I am looking forward to the end of my 6 week recovery time and getting back to getting my hands dirty! (During nap times, of course)
